Proverbs 3:1-8 - Jeri
1My child, never forget the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart. 2If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying. 3Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. 4Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.
5Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. 7Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil. 8Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones. (NLT)

Proverbs 3:19-26 - Katie
19By wisdom the LORD founded the earth; by understanding he created the heavens. 20By his knowledge the deep fountains of the earth burst forth, and the dew settles beneath the night sky.
21My child, don’t lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them, 22for they will refresh your soul. They are like jewels on a necklace. 23They keep you safe on your way, and your feet will not stumble. 24You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly. 25You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, 26for the LORD is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.

James 5:13-16
13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.
14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
1 John 1:5-9
5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
8If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1 Corinthians 10:12-13 12So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Romans 8:18-28 - Tim
8Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. 19For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are. 20Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, 21the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. 22For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. 24We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. 25But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)
26And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. 28And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Covenant of the members of the First Baptist Church
Having been led by the Spirit of God to profess our faith in Jesus Christ, and having been baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, we do now joyfully and solemnly affirm our covenant with God and with one another.
We promise to serve Christ in the fellowship of this congregation. We will strive to love one another, to remember one another in prayer, to share in each other’s joys, and to sustain each other in times of distress. We aspire to be a fellowship of the concerned: where the lost may find Jesus Christ, sinners may find pardon, seekers may find meaning for their lives, and where all who come may find welcome. We pledge to be responsible church members through faithful attendance, study of God’s Word, and giving from all our resources.
We seek to be obedient to Christ in our daily living. In our homes, in our labor, and while at leisure, we will strive for attitudes and actions which reflect God’s Spirit working within us and through us. Believing that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, we will endeavor to avoid experiences and habits which defile and harm our body and hinder our witness.
Bound together in a fellowship of faith with all who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we will pray and work for a spirit of unity among all Christians.
Believing that our call to be a church is a call to witness in the world, we dedicate ourselves anew as servants of the Lord of all life. As we pledge our support to the work of missionaries throughout the world, we commit ourselves to the mission to which God calls us all. Whenever people are in bondage to ignorance, poverty, fear, or prejudice, we will strive for justice, freedom, dignity, and peace. Whenever people are separated by barriers of hostility, distrust, and loneliness, we will be ministers of God’s reconciling love.
Acknowledging our human frailties and ever seeking forgiveness, we profess our need of the Holy Spirit to empower us, and commit our lives anew to Jesus Christ, and through Him to the care, judgment, deliverance, and mercy of Almighty God. Amen.
