Corporate Worship
We believe that God’s Word is powerful. When we gather as a church, we gather to be formed by His Word. Therefore, we want to do the things He has called us to do, and trust that, as we submit ourselves to this Word-driven order of service, God will do a good work through us as His people.
Hear the Word – from the call to worship, to Scripture readings, the text of the sermon, to the closing benediction.
Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching.1 Timothy 4:13
Sing the Word – songs in which we sing to God, and encourage one another about the character and promises of God.
Addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart. – Ephesians 5:19
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. – Colossians 3:16
Pray the Word – prayer from Scripture, in line with Scripture, and in response to Scripture.
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship to the breaking of bread and the prayers. - Acts 2:42
First of all then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people. – 1 Timothy 2:1
Preach the Word
– an exposition of a Biblical text where the main point of the sermon is that of the text.
Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. – 2 Timothy 4:2
See the Word
–Ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper are physical pictures of spiritual realities.
What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. – Romans 6:1-4
And when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me. – 1 Corinthians 11:24
