1. God's Word is foundational for life.
The Christian disciplines of Bible reading and study are essential to spiritually vibrant daily living as a follower of Jesus.
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." - Psalm 119:105
2. Effective prayer is the church's life-blood.
Prayer must bathe and fill everything in this church's life.
"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." - Mark 11:24
3. The Great Commission is for every Christian.
We exist to share the Good News and communicate God's Word to all who will believe.
"My food," said Jesus, "is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." - John 4:34-35
4. God is able to do great things in our midst.
The ministry of this church is all about God, and from His unlimited resources He provides abundantly for His work.
"Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen." - Ephesians 3:20-21
5. A serving attitude characterizes our life together in Christ.
We want to be Christlike in all that we do.
"Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus! (who) made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness." - Philippians 2:5 and 7
6. Faith is reflected in our actions.
We want to actively serve God 24/7 as Christians in whom the Holy Spirit dwells and produces fruit. Faith encompasses all of life.
"In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead." - James 2:17
7. The unchurched need our love.
We care deeply about people because they matter to God. We want to be accepting of people, value them, and care for them, focusing them on Christ’s love and grace. We want to show His hospitality.
"When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." - Matthew 9:36
8. Relationships are the key to transformation.
We grow in Christ and our lives are changed through relationships with other believers. We are a family.
"His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. And this gave him great pleasure." - Ephesians 1:5 (NLT)
9. Loyalty (faithfulness) to one another in this fellowship is highly prized.
We will maintain an unconditional commitment to one another.
"so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." - Romans 12:5
10. God calls our whole body to minister.
All members are stewards of God's gifts of time, talent, and treasure, using them for the glory of God.
"and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ." - Ephesians 4:11-13
